Target 7.2: Green Procurement

As of April 1, 2014, the Government of Canada will continue to take action to embed environmental considerations into public procurement, in accordance with the federal Policy on Green Procurement.

Departmental green procurement target #1
By March 31, 2016, 100% of copy paper purchased through the Standing Offers (SO) will contain a minimum of 30 % recycled content, as well as meet or exceed the criteria established in the EcoLogo CCD-077 standard for paper, or equivalent.

Departmental green procurement target #2
By March 31, 2016, 100% of new printers procured will have duplex printing capabilities and an ENERGY STAR qualification.  Where possible, the duplex feature will be installed by default.

Upcoming Internal Audits and Evaluations Over the Next Three Fiscal Years

The following audits are planned for the upcoming years (2015–16 to 2017–18). The Risk-Based Audit Plan 2014–2015 through 2020–21 was approved in March 2014 and includes audits and reviews of areas identified to be at risk. The plan is reviewed annually. The annual update may result in modifications of the plan and therefore different audits and/or reviews may be identified.
