Annual Report to Parliament

Since fiscal year 2005–06, Courts Administration Service (CAS) has produced an Annual Report (AR) each year to satisfy Subsection 12(1) of the Courts Administration Service Act (CAS Act). As part of the annual parliamentary reporting requirements, CAS also prepares a Departmental Results Report (DRR). Over time, the AR and the DRR came to report similar information.
To reduce duplication and streamline reporting to Parliamentarians and Canadians, CAS has discontinued the Annual Report to Parliament. The CAS Annual Report 2022–23 was the final annual report tabled in Parliament. The DRR is now the primary document for communicating our results to Canadians and Parliamentarians.
Like the AR, the DRR provides a comprehensive report on our performance for the previous fiscal year, a discussion of our achievements against the key indicators and targets set out in our Departmental Plan, and our financial statements.
The workload data of the Judicial and Registry Services Sector in support of each of the Courts is produced by each of the Courts and available on their websites:

• Federal Court of Appeal 
• Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada: Because of the low volume of decisions, the Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada does not produce statistics.
