Annual Report on Travel, Hospitality and Conference Expenditures 2024-25

As required by the Treasury Board Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conference and Event Expenditures, this report provides information on travel, hospitality and conferences expenditures for the Courts Administration Service (CAS) for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025, except for information withheld under the Access to Information Act or the Privacy Act.

Travel, hospitality and conference expenditures incurred by a federal department or agency relate to activities that support the department or agency’s mandate and the government’s priorities.

CAS’s travel, hospitality and conference expenditures support the delivery of the following core programs and services to Canadians:

Significant variances compared with previous fiscal year

Travel: The departmental travel expenditures decreased by $53 thousand (-5%) in comparison to fiscal year 2023-24. This reduction is largely attributable to the implementation of a discretionary spending freeze, including travel-related expenditures.

Hospitality: The departmental hospitality spending has decreased by $13 thousand (-13%) in comparison to fiscal year 2023-24.

Conference fees: Departmental conference fees expenditures were nil in 2024-25 as well as for 2023-24 fiscal year.

Minister and minister’s exempt staff: Consistent with fiscal year 2023-24, departmental expenditures for international travel by the Minister and the Minister’s exempt staff were nil in 2024-25.
