Significant variances compared with previous fiscal year

Travel: The departmental travel expenditures increased by $167 thousand (18%) in comparison to fiscal year 2022-23. The increase is mainly due to additional travel requirements to support the operational activities of the judiciary.

Hospitality: The departmental hospitality spending has increased by $74 thousand (319%) in comparison to fiscal year 2022-23. This is mainly due to the increased presence in the workplace and a greater number of in-person events taking place such an Annual meeting of the heads of Court Administration (HoCA), an Executive retreat and additional requirements in the area of the judicial services.

Conference fees: Departmental conference fees expenditures were nil in 2023-24 as well as for 2022-23 fiscal year.

Minister and minister’s exempt staff: Consistent with fiscal year 2022-23, departmental expenditures for international travel by the Minister and the Minister’s exempt staff were nil in 2023-24.
