Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada

The Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada is a national, bilingual, superior court of records, which hears appeals of court martial decisions. Courts martial are military courts established under the National Defence Act, which hear cases under the Code of Service Discipline. *Pursuant to subsection 165.31(1) of the National Defence Act, the Chief Justice of the Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada has the power to appoint three judges of his Court to serve as members of the Military Judges Inquiry Committee. This committee has jurisdiction to commence an inquiry in relation to a complaint filed against a military judge of a court martial.
